Mio is a name synonymous with high-quality handheld computing and satellite navigation. Mio is a trademark of MITAC International Corporation the parent company of Mio Technology. Mio, and other trademarks of MITAC International Corporation are very valuable as they represent excellence and consistent quality. ("Mio Trademarks") This page contains detailed information about how to reference Mio Trademarks in different scenarios.
For the purposes of these guidelines, Mio Trademark(s) shall include all registered or unregistered trademarks and service marks (such as words, names, symbols, devices, slogans, or combination of these) owned by MiTAC International Corporation, including but not limited to the trademarks and service marks listed on the Mio Trademarks List.
 

Referencing Mio Trademarks in Text

Proper use of Mio Trademarks is important. You may use Mio Trademarks or product names to refer to Mio products and services provided you follow these guidelines. Your use must not mislead consumers as to any Mio Technology sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement of your company, or your products or services.

Mio and Mio Technology

Mio Technology  sells its products under the Mio brand.

 

Mio Product Names

When writing about products from the Mio brand, the correct way is to use the complete Mio trademark followed by the model number. You can also refer to the product simply by its model number.

Correct: Mio A701.
Correct: A701.
Incorrect: Mio device model A701.

 

Use Mio Trademarks as Modifiers

Guidelines for Advertising Collateral, Marketing, and Product Packaging

You may reference the names of Mio products and services on packaging, web sites, and in advertising materials to indicate your product's compatibility with a specific Mio product or service, provided the reference complies with the guidelines herein and the specifications below.

  • You may use Mio trademarks in referential phrases such as "Works with MioMapTM", "Runs on Mio P550"," and "For use with Mio P350".
  • Do not use any Mio trademarks as your product name, service name, or company name.
  • Do not use product, service, or company names that could be confused with any Mio trademark.
  • Do not mimic or copy Mio product packaging, or advertising.
  • Do not use Mio trademarks more prominently than your product or service name. You should maintain a visual distinction between your company and product name and any Mio  trademark.
  • Do not create or use any logos that include a Mio Technology trademark unless your use is pursuant to a license from Mio Technology (for example, do not create your own MioMap logo).
 

Logos

Do not use the Mio logo, MioMap logo, or any other Mio logos, symbols, or icons on or in connection with products, packaging, manuals, promotional/advertising materials, or web sites for any purpose except where you have written permission from Mio Technology.

 

Endorsement or Sponsorship

Do not use any Mio Trademark in any manner that expresses or implies affiliation with Mio Technology, sponsorship, endorsement, certification, or approval. Do not use any Mio Trademark in such a manner that it appears Mio Technology is legally associated with your company. You must display your company name more prominently than any Mio Trademark on all materials.

 

Merchandise Items

Do not manufacture, sell, or give away merchandise items such as T-shirts, mugs, etc. bearing any Mio Trademark, including logos, except pursuant to an express written permission from Mio Technology.
